According to the data released by Google, 82% of searches related to Super Bowl TV ads happened on mobile devices in 2016, compared to 70% in previous year. This staggering figure includes searches made on Google search engine as well as on YouTube.
According to the data released by Google, 82% of searches related to Super Bowl TV ads happened on mobile devices in 2016, compared to 70% in previous year. This staggering figure includes searches made on Google search engine as well as on YouTube.
What happened to desktop? Only 11% of searches happened on desktop platforms and the remaining 7% were made on tablets. Moreover, Google's data suggests that this year's Super Bowl TV-related ads generated over 7.5 million "incremental searches" (additional TV-driven queries) which is 40% more than last year!
Audience's interest in the ads that they saw was at the highest point during the first two quarters, it then dropped during the half-time and picked back up (but not to the level of first two quarters) during the 3rd and 4th quarters – see the graph below:
